This book is simply amazing. Angry, proud, fierce, tender, it is a powerful letter of love from a father to a son that holds lasting insight for us all. I started reading this book as so as I got the package. It will, I am certain, influence my own sense of self and the way that I interact with the younger gay men in my life.
This book demonstrates what being a mentor means. This book made me hold a mirror to myself and think about what it means to be a responsible gay man, the aspects of LGTBQ History I need to learn more about, and the importance of being vocal and staying informed on injustices against our community.

This book is an intimate, personal exploration of our uncertain times and most troubling questions and profound concerns about issues as fundamental as dignity, equality, and justice.
Highly recommended, it was even more than I had hoped for when I purchased the book and I wish there were more books like it.

I highly recommend this book to anyone. But bigotry is on the rise, ignited by a president who has declared war on the gay community and fanned the flames of homophobia. Being gay is a gift, Jackson writes, but with their gains in jeopardy the gay community must not be complacent.
The deep truth of his writing makes this a beautiful book. A newly constituted Supreme Court with a conservative tilt is poised to overturn equality laws and set the clock back decades.
