Robby continues to let the team down unable to find any form of balance and struggling with his attachment issues, Miguel pressures him further by telling him to either step up or hand the captaincy over to him.

He became the first student of the new generation of Miyagi-Do Karate and had a blossoming relationship with Daniel's daughter, Sam. His feelings for her led to a bloody rivalry with Miguel Diazwhich came to a head during a brawl at West Valley High.

He continuously lets the team down in the first few rounds not being able to find balance. During Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai's tag team elimination round, Robby and Tory go up against each other, and after their fight, Robby confronts Tory telling her she can't be mad because she's the one who put their relationship on pause, and Tory informs Robby that her and Kwon were never a thing, and that the latter played him to get to his head.
